Heritage Golf Group and TPC Tampa Bay Raise Funds in Support of Military Homefront Groups
LUTZ, FL –TPC Tampa Bay recently hosted a charity Golf Tournament that took place on November 20th and 21st, 2010. This is Heritage Golf Group’s 9th event for the year and TPC Tampa Bay’s 6th consecutive year participating in the PGA TOUR’s initiative to raise funds for U.S. Troops and their families. Birdies for the Brave is a nationwide program launched by the U.S. Department of Defense that generates financial support for military homefront groups. Birdies for the Brave is a primary element of Heritage Golf Group’s philanthropic endeavors.
TPC Tampa Bay hosted the kickoff party and silent/live auction on November 20th, followed by the charity Golf Tournament held on November 21st, raising $120,000. TPC Tampa Bay’s Birdies for the Brave event received support from major contributing sponsors, such as Aaron’s and A.T.A.P. The event featured one active Military VIP in attendance: General Doug Brown. The event also included several Champions Tour Players in attendance: Andy Bean, Brad Bryant, Jim Dent, Gary Koch and Tom Ulozas.
“TPC Tampa Bay is honored to be a continuing sponsor of Birdies for the Brave and we appreciate the contributions of our entire community and our Membership,” said Brady Boyd, General Manager at TPC Tampa Bay. “On behalf of our local fundraising committee, event sponsors, product donors and club ambassadors, we are truly grateful for the sacrifices that our troops make every day to maintain our safety and freedom.” Heritage Golf Group’s collection of premier clubs nationwide raised funds throughout 2010, during nine charity golf tournaments, silent auctions, and accompanying fundraising activities. Since 2007, Heritage Golf Group has held over twenty-one Birdies for the Brave golf tournaments with accompanying auction galas, which raised over $1.3 million.
